ACM Magnetics is a consultancy led by Tony Morcos. Mr. Morcos’ expertise is in magnetic circuit design and analysis, with more than 25 years of both theoretical and hands-on experience in permanent magnet manufacturing and electric motor/electromagnetic device design and manufacturing. Specialties include high-performance permanent magnet motors, actuators and sensors for use in Military/Aerospace, Medical, Automotive, Power Tool, Appliance and Commercial/Industrial applications. Mr. Morcos is also a seasoned trainer and lecturer on permanent magnet materials & applications and electric motors & generators.
Tony Morcos was the Magnetics Applications Engineer at Energy Conversion Systems / Kane Magnetics from 2004-2008, where he provided expert design, analysis and technical support in the areas of electromagnetic FEA; design of permanent magnet motors, actuators & sensors and permanent; magnetic measurements; and magnet materials. Prior to that, he was Senior Applied Scientist at the Magnequench Technology Center from 1999-2004, where he was responsible for the design and analysis of various permanent magnet devices, including voice coil motors, brushless DC motors, magnetic couplings, electromagnetic actuators, and magnetic sensors. He has over 25 years’ experience in magnetic device & material development, including ten years as the Director of Engineering for the BEI Kimco Magnetics Division in San Marcos, CA (1989 – 1999). Tony received his Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton, where he studied under the “father of rare-earth permanent magnets” – Dr. Karl Strnat
